Recently, I did something that absolutely terrified me. I decided to write, direct, and DP my own short film. Lots of indie filmmakers do this, however, I had only written and directed so this was a huge step.
And it was scary.
I promise I almost called the whole thing off.
Especially when one of my actors had to cancel the night before.
That meant that I had to also be in front of the camera.
But In The Silence wrapped in three days and I’m so glad I didn’t quit. I am a much more confident filmmaker because of this experience.
I can tell you without hesitation, that whatever you’ve been putting off because you’re scared, do it anyway. You’ll often do things with the biggest payoffs with your knees knocking. Don’t let that stop you.
If you’ve been led to do something, I promise there’s a way to get it done.
