We’re thrilled to announce the recipients of the June 2025 installment of the This Woman Knows Microgrant!
Out of an incredible pool of applicants doing meaningful, impactful work, three women were selected to receive financial support, and 11 additional finalists will receive media amplification through the TWK platform. These visionary women are building legacies, healing communities, and showing us what resilience, creativity, and purpose truly look like.
TWK Microgrant Award Recipient ($500):
Anniesha McDonald, Founder of Pompano Beauty Academy
Located in Florida, Anniesha is creating a hybrid beauty school experience that centers flexibility, access, and entrepreneurial readiness for aspiring beauty professionals. Her work supports students often left behind by traditional institutions, including young adults who have aged out of the foster care system. By addressing generational poverty and creating real career pathways, she’s equipping women to thrive and define success on their terms.

TWK SEED Grant Recipients ($100 each):
Yvanne Joseph, Director of Selenite Therapy
A licensed mental health counselor (LMHC, MFT), Yvanne is building a healing-centered mental health practice that empowers and protects mothers, especially those navigating systems like child welfare. Her work ensures that therapy isn’t just a privilege, but a lifeline.

Shanell Camp, Founder of ShadedByShanell
Shanell is redefining beauty with precision and care through a luxury makeup brand that celebrates inclusivity, featuring products specifically developed for individuals with albinism. Her artistry is bold, intentional, and rooted in representation.
