As a “work from anywhere” entrepreneur, I have been blessed with the good fortune of having built my business from the ground up. I went from making no money, to earning over $1,500.00 per client.
I’ve been an online entrepreneur for years, and I’ll share with you some tips that have helped me along my journey.
Tip #1 – Social Media – Does your brand have an online presence? I’m not talking about your personal Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram Page. I’m suggesting that your business, project, book, or ministry deserves it’s own page. Use your business page to promote your business,not to talk about what color shoes you bought, leave that for your personal page.
Tip #2 – Attend networking events – Spending time with other like minded individuals who also also have big goals for their lives and businesses is a great way to gain some exposure, as well as some great ideas that maybe you hadn’t thought of. Being in a room full of goal oriented people is always exciting because the atmosphere is charged, and new ideas are birthed, It’s also a great way to practice and perfect your 1 minute elevator speech.
Tip #3 – Start a blog – I began writing over two years ago, just to share my thoughts about life, love, and business. I started with a simple blogger.com basic template format, nothing fancy or special about it. I wrote a new post-2-3 time a week and I grew my readership from zero to over 3000 internationally in just 3 short months. I found that as I wrote and spoke from my heart about the lessons I was learning along the way, my messages resonated with people. I learned that it wasn’t so much about the blog, but I used my writing as a way to market and monetize my business, taking my business from being a part-time side hustle to a full-time business.
Tip # 4 – Stop waiting to be found – This is what I call the “Dating and Waiting” syndrome. As women, we are taught not to be too aggressive. We are taught to wait to be found. This may be good advice in terms of your relationship goals, but in terms of business, this type of thinking will cause you to get left behind. How often do you tell people about what you do? Get used to the idea of talking about your business all the time. The more people who know about what you do, the more likely you are to grow your business, simply by word of mouth.
