Ten years ago, I released my second book, This Woman Knows.

There was no book tour. Not a lot of fanfare. And it never made it to Amazon’s Best Seller List.

Just me sharing my truths as I had discovered them.

I can confidently tell you that I’m not the same woman I was when I wrote the book.

So much has changed.

There’ve been losses (Momma and Jessica).

There’ve been moments of pain but also moments of joy.

And the wins provide a beautiful balance to it all.

I do find it ironic that I wrote this book about my journey and wasn’t comfortable enough to use my picture on the cover.

Me telling the story was the most important thing. Me learning to love my body and my hair would take a few more years of healing.

This little book sparked a blog with incredible women from all across the country providing content. I will always be grateful to them for saying yes!

This Woman Knows produced a TV show and even distributed a magazine. I even produced my first short film, “She Said What?“, and who knew it would be the catalyst for a career in film? I was very green when it came to video production but I knew that story had to be produced and I was the one to tell it.

All of it is still here for you to view.

I was recently a guest on another podcast show and they found the magazine and wanted to talk about an article I’d written. I had to go back and read it because I’d forgotten it was there. That article was the catalyst for a whole conversation some 10 years later.

Nothing gets wasted.

I firmly believe that.

And now there’s the This Woman Knows Podcast. I get to have conversations with amazing women and hear all about their lessons learned. I get to talk about topics that interest me and from what I’ve heard they interest you too.

It’s been 10 years.

I can assure you there’ll be a sequel to the book—I just don’t know when.

But I promise you this…I will be gracing the cover!

Happy birthday This Woman Knows.

What a journey.
