Kay Matthews is one of, if not the leading voice in the Black maternal mental health space. She is unapologetically Black, a fierce advocate for her community, and believes in being “people-centered.”
Kay has been my client for about four years now and I’ve watched her vision grow. It has been an incredible thing to witness. And I’m proud of her success and celebrate every victory.
Because being a Black woman founder has its challenges—no matter the industry or space.
Since I’ve had a front-row seat to some of it, I asked Kay to talk about what it is to be a Black female founder, her uncompromising commitment to self-care not only for her but for her staff, and what every female founder needs to know.
